* What is the minor Ailment Scheme?

The Minor Ailment Scheme is provided by the NHS. The Scheme is designed to enable people with Minor health conditions to access medicines and advice they will otherwise visit the doctor for.

* What condition are covered by the Minor Ailment Scheme?

Constipation, Indigestion/Heartburn, Diarrhea, Hemorrhoids, Scabies, Sore throat, Temperature, Headache/Earache, Cold sore, Athletes Foot, Head lice, Migraine , Vaginal or oral thrush, Thread worm.

These are some of the conditions covered but it may vary depending on the location.

* Where is the minor Ailment Scheme available?

The scheme is not run nationwide. It is important you check with your local pharmacy to see if your GP is covered by the service.
The service is an in store service and patients or patient representatives MUST come in store to complete form and collect the medication.

* Who is the Minor Ailment Scheme available to?

The service is available to anyone entitled to free prescription scheme and for paying patients (prescription charges apply for paying patients).
The scheme must also be covered by a GP in your area.
